Filipinos can send money instantly using platforms such as GCash and Maya, shop online through Shopee and Lazada, and conduct business remotely from anywhere in the country. However, this rapid digital adoption has also created new opportunities for cybercriminals. Phishing scams, identity theft, account takeovers, and online fraud have become increasingly common, affecting both individuals and organizations.
AI helps address these challenges by analyzing large volumes of data and identifying patterns that may indicate malicious activity. Traditional cybersecurity systems often rely on predefined rules, which can miss new or unusual threats. AI, by contrast, learns from historical behavior and can detect anomalies such as unusual login times, suspicious payment requests, or abnormal network traffic.
